FM Hi LOW : FOOD.WATER.SHELTER.LOVE. 2012. X-Canada Tour:
“FM Hi LOW is movement music that soothes, grooves and inspires.”

With the release of the brand new album and a cross Canada festival tour FM HI LOW is set for a huge 2012. The new album entitled: FOOD.WATER.SHELTER.LOVE, was recorded in Montreal and Jamaica. It is a genre-bending blast of good vibes that bring you to the farthest ranges of reggae, dub-step, hip-hop, indie rock and folk, all cleverly arranged with a smooth pop sensibility. It embraces catchy hooks as a form of mass communication and views a bumping beat as a tool for inspiring positive change.

Fraser MacDougall is the soul of the operation. He’s a singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumental musician from Montreal, Quebec.  With FM Hi LOW he has founded what he calls “Underground Pop”.  MacDougall writes songs that are heartfelt and historical, his lyrics carry a positive transmission that convey a deep consciousness for planet earth, speak about the generosity of the human spirit and are attuned to the protection and conservation of Canadian waterways, the slow food and organics movements, human rights and justice, and an overall joi de vivre.

FM HI LOW in Jamaica.

MacDougall has just returned from a two month backpacking and recording adventure in Jamaica. Where he and long time friend and collaborator Erik Schramek traveled all around the island, playing acoustically, writing songs, and jamming with the local artists and musicians.   The FM HI LOW duo played a live feature set at the world famous Alfred’s seaside stage in Negril that caught the attention of Sizzla’s Judgment Yard crew.  Which resulted in a invite back to CHOP CHOP productions studio for a session. MacDougall and Schramek ended up staying for a week, working and recording in the west-end Negril studio working on sessions that resulted in a collaboration with Rapper/Singer JUTA Rhythms, who is featured on the new song “Pretty Face”.

After three weeks of traveling the coast and blue mountains and gathering serious Jamaican vibes the duo stopped in to visit Juno award winning producer/musician Tim “dub” Doyle.  Originally intending to work in studio’s in Westmorland the trio opted to rent a huge empty five bedroom apartment instead.  The apartment was in a stellar location halfway up Cave Mountain with a panoramic balcony view overlooking the ocean . They converted one bedroom into a tracking room by collected bits and pieces of Doyle’s music gear all around town and for the next three weeks the trio lived together and recorded tracks for the forthcoming album entitled: Food.Water.Shelter.Love.   MacDougall was equipped with a small HD video camera which he had rolling on most occasions. He is now working on a mini documentary of the trip with art director Tumi Cerjo, to be released on the official website. www.fmhilow.com

FM Hi LOW is ready for a big year of touring, a new album release, and some serious evolution.
